We're pleased to expand the Joy to Life program through the Alabama Dept. of Public Health from 3 counties to 28 counties in South Central Alabama!
The Montgomery Half-Marathon is presented by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and will benefit the Joy to Life Foundation. This annual event is quickly becoming one of the premier running events in the South. Plus, with a half-marathon, a 5K, and kids one-mile run, there's something for everyone!

Birdies for Charity is a fundraising program designed to give participating charities the opportunity to generate contributions for their organization based on the number of “birdies” made by LPGA players during the 2010 Navistar LPGA Classic.

Cuts for a Cure is a fun, unique fundraising event that will take place in downtown Montgomery on Monday, October 18.
Take your pick from services such as haircuts, professional consultations and/or 15-minute stress-relieving massages from area stylists - all for a minimum donation of just $30! All proceeds for this event will be given to the Joy to Life Foundation to help them continue to provide mammograms to the medically underserved in 28 Alabama counties.

Pray in Pink Weekend 2009 was a huge success! Over 90 area houses of worship participated by honoring breast cancer survivors and providing life-saving information about breast cancer to their congregants!

What an amazing morning on Saturday, April 17 at the 2010 Walk of Life! Thousands joined us at Cramton Bowl in downtown Montgomery, Alabama and enjoyed a walk or run through historic Montgomery. Just before the Walk, we made history by creating the largest human-made pink awareness ribbon in Alabama as part of the Pink Glove Project!
The Walk of Life is the major fundraiser for the Joy to Life Foundation. It is intended to raise awareness and dollars to continue providing free mammograms for medically underserved women under 50 years of age in 28 counties in Alabama.
Participants are invited to share and view the Walk of Life photos and video.

During the March and April 2010, Joy to Life turned many of the fountains in Montgomery PINK!!
EastChase was pinked on Saturday, March 13 at 2:00. Main street in EastChase was decorated in Pink as a celebration for the upcoming Joy to Life Foundation's Walk of Life. A special presentation was made to honor the survivors, supporters, sponsors, participants and official starters of the 2010 Walk of Life April event. Survivors joined in to help turn the main street fountain pink. Afterwards everyone was invited to visit the breast cancer organizations in the store next to Abercrombie & Fitch to learn how we can all join in the fight against breast cancer. The Cancer Wellness Foundation, Sistas CAN Survive Coalition, Women of Hope and the American Cancer Society will share the spotlight as the official starters of the 2010 Walk event.
Then on Monday, March 15, Montgomery's downtown Court Square fountain became pretty in pink at the 12 noon event. Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange, along with the official starters of the 2010 Walk of Life - The Cancer Wellness Foundation, Sistas CAN Survive Coalition, Women of Hope and the American Cancer Society - gathered with survivors to turn the fountain pink.
On Monday, April 12, ALFA's headquarters in Montgomery joined in. Employees of ALFA gathered as fellow staff members, who are breast cancer survivors, turned the fountain pink.
Then on Friday, April 16, the Montgomery Renaissance Hotel and Spa turned their fountain pink just in time for the participants of Saturday's event to enjoy.
The Auburn women's basketball team was in the "Pink Zone" on Sunday, February 14 when they hosted LSU at the coliseum in Auburn. The "Pink Zone" is part of the WBCA's iniative to help raise awareness of breast cancer. ALFA Insurance sponsored the game and donated $5000 to the Joy to Life Foundation ($1 for each person in attendance). We enjoyed some great basketball, got a "Pink Zone" t-shirt and was encouraged to see all the support to fight against breast cancer. Thank you ALFA and Auburn!
Then on February 20, Alabama State University Lady Hornets took on Alcorn State in their Pink Zone game winning 63-53 at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. Thank you to ASU for inviting Joy to Life to be a part of their Pink Zone 2010!

Here's a light-hearted way to support a serious cause! "Show Your Support" is a contest sponsored by Bou Cou in Montgomery that encourages participants to decorate a bra to promote breast cancer awareness and best of all, support The Joy to Life Foundation!
The voting has ended and now we wait for the winners to be announced! Thanks to all the bra artist for their hard work, creativity and support.

The 1st Annual Pink Lure Tour Bass Tournament was held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Prattville, Alabama with 100% of the proceeds staying in Alabama to support the Joy to Life Foundation.
114 boats and 228 anglers converged on Cooters Pond for a day of fishing and fun! The event was hosted by BASS Founder Ray Scott and ESPN's "Bass Professor" Doug Hannon along with “Venture Outdoors” TV show hosts Don Day and Rick Redmon as event emcees.

Did you miss the 2009 What to Wear event presented by Montgomery Living? Then you missed a fabulous evening at the Alabama Activity Center. Ms. Joy Lambert from WAKA-TV in Montgomery served as the host for the evening. The fashion show was impressive with women of all ages "stylin and profilin" - including the three ladies who received the makeovers. Diana Warner Carroll from New York displayed her beautiful jewelry designs that many enjoyed looking at and many more enjoyed purchasing. As if that wasn't enough to keep you busy, a silent auction was held as well with so many attractive items to bid on from local shops and boutiques.

Joy to Life’s newest project, BreastCancerTV.net went online at the end of March and is a website packed with inspiration and information for those facing this frightening diagnosis. One of the main things those that log on to the site will find is hope.
It's purpose is to inform, educate and inspire those dealing with breast cancer in any way. You'll find breast cancer survivors telling their stories, learn the proper way to perform a self breast exam and much more. Be sure to visit and let us know what you think!
