Pray in Pink is an opportunity for area houses of worship (churches, synagogues, and mosques) to honor breast cancer survivors and to provide life-saving information about breast cancer to their congregants.
Participating congregations are encouraged to make the day or weekend a celebration of survivors and co-survivors by hosting a special luncheon for survivors, encouraging attendees to wear pink clothes or by inviting survivors to speak about their experiences.
Registration is FREE. We offer Online Registration or download a paper registration form to mail in. Participants will receive FREE informative materials regarding breast cancer detection and treatment that can be passed along to congregants. Materials, along with programming ideas and suggestions, are available online as a free download or in print form at participating Montgomery Public Library branches.
Other materials that are available include Pray in Pink bags for $2.00 each. These bags can be ordered when you register. The Pray in Pink bags can be given as gifts to the ladies of your congregation or sold as a fundraiser. The funds raised from the sale of the Pray in Pink bags may be used for your house of worship or donated to the Joy to Life Foundation.
You may also order a BreastCancerTV.net DVD featuring inspirational stories from breast cancer survivors as well as informational videos from prominent physicians for $5.00. DVD orders can be placed when you register for Pray in Pink.
Remember, registration is FREE. For more information, please call 334.284.LIFE (5433) or email prayinpink@joytolife.org.
Donations will benefit The Joy to Life Foundation. Pray in Pink has been inspired by the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Greater Atlanta Chapter and all materials were adapted from Komenatlanta.org.
